The Vernon Service

On Wednesday 17th December, a choir of 42 boys accompanied by six staff went up to St. Michael's Cornhill to sing the carol service for the Merchant Taylors' Company. The service takes its names form John Vernon, who was a generous benefactor of the Company. The boys this year sang seven carols, and the singing was confident, strong and musical throughout, with the highlight being What Sweet Music by John Ruttler. The church was full, making for a wonderfully festive atmosphere, and after the service, a fabulous lunch was enjoyed by all at the Merchant Taylors' Hall in Threadneedle Street.
