Medics Convention - June 2014

MTS Medics’ Mentoring Convention, the first ever Medics’ Convention was held at MTS. Current pupils, parents, OMTs, parents of OMTs, and friends of the School were invited to attend. The afternoon began with talks by parents and OMTs from different fields of medicine at different stages in their careers, including general surgery, general practice and dermatology. This proved to be invaluable, as it provided a sense of the scope of opportunity available to current pupils should they choose to pursue a career in medicine. This was followed by a networking session that allowed students and parents to ask further questions about medicine as a career and the challenges that lie ahead. Thanks must go to all the speakers who gave their valuable time to provide incredibly useful advice, and special thanks to Mr. Evans-Evans  who helped the development office in allowing this event to take place.
