Summer Reunions: Classes of 1985, 1995 and 2005
During the summer term, the Development Office team was delighted to welcome back OMTs from the Classes of 1985, 1995 and 2005 for their milestone reunions. Each event began informal tours of school with some of the current JCR – revisiting old form rooms, the Great Hall and, inevitably, the Dining Hall..as well as touring the newest buildings in school such as the DET and Geography buildings, before we enjoyed relaxed drinks either in the Inner Quad. Due to torrential rain forcing a change of venue, the reunion for the Classes of 1995 and 2005 enjoyed their drinks in the SCR, which was a first for most!
There was real excitement as old friends reconnected, many for the first time in decades. One common refrain echoed across the years: that unmistakable sense – and even smell – of the School remains unchanged, instantly transporting everyone back to their school days.
The evenings concluded at the OMT Clubhouse, where a casual barbecue and a lively cash bar provided the perfect setting for stories, laughter and long-overdue catch-ups.
Warm thanks go to the teachers who joined us – John Pallant, David Andrews, Jon Gabitass, Jonny Taylor and John Coleman – for making the events even more memorable. We’re already looking forward to next year’s reunions! If you are in the Class of 1976, 1986, 1996, 2006 and 2016, and would like to be involved in organising a milestone reunion, please do email the Development Office.
