Merchant Taylors' and St Helen's City Network 2015

The third annual Merchant Taylors' City Network took place on Wednesday 3rd June at the Oriental Club. This event was the first City Network that was hosted jointly with St Helen’s, and it was extremely well attended by OMTs, Old Girls, parents and parents of OMTs and OGs.

Deepak Haria, Governor at MTS (and current St Helen’s parent and parent of an OMT) spoke about the plans for the Development and Alumni Relations Office and the School. He spoke about the exciting new Design Centre that will be opened at the start of the next academic year, and he highlighted School’s recent successes, which includes 16 Oxbridge offers and the School’s 1st XI cricket team taking on Haberdashers at Lord’s cricket ground at the end of the month. Deepak also spoke on the expanding opportunities for OMTs. There are not only numerous social and networking events planned, but also various opportunities to come back to School and to help and advise current pupils on careers and higher education.

Dr Mary Short welcomed the attendees from St Helen’s to the first event hosted by their new Development Office. Zoe Baines the Development Director at St Helen’s was appointed in September and since then has been working hard to establish relationships with Old Girl’s and parents. She hopes to continue providing various events and opportunities for St Helen’s Old Girls.

Thank you to all those who attended the event; it was great to see you there. To those who missed the City Network this year and would like to attend in the future, please do get in touch. Whether you work in these industries or not, if you let us know what your current role is, it will enable us to shape future sector-specific networking and social opportunities. Please contact the Development and Alumni Relations Director, Nick Latham, by email (nlatham@mtsn.org.uk) or telephone (01923 845545) who will be delighted to hear from you.
