An Evening with Dan Cruickshank

A packed Exam Hall was treated to an hour and a half of historian Dan Cruickshank on Thursday 5 November. He took us on a whistle-stop tour of some of the major architectural sites around the world ranging from classical ruins to modern New York. The evening turned out to be particularly poignant as he explained how many of the sites that feature in his new book are simply no longer available to us: either because where they are is too dangerous, or because they have been systematically destroyed in recent months.
