Andrew John Wilson (1967-1972)
Died on 24th January 2021 aged 67
Andrew joined Merchant Taylors’ School from Northwood Prep or Terry's as it was known then, where he was a prefect. Known to all his classmates as AJ, he represented the school at Fives and was the flying centre in the School's First XV during his final year.
After School he studied Production Engineering at Birmingham University before going on to take an MSc at Cambridge. He became a Refinery Engineer with Shell, working in South Africa, before returning to the UK to join Kimberley-Clark. He rose to become the General Manager of their large site in Flint. After retirement, he used his outstanding carpentry skills, learnt at school, to brilliantly renovate a historic Cheshire Farmhouse, Bank Farm, where his family still resides; as well as taking a pivotal role in the local church and surrounding community affairs.
