Class of 1985 – Forty-year reunion
Saturday 17th May 2025, from 5.30pm
2025 is the year that the Class of 1985 mark forty years since leaving Merchant Taylors' School and to celebrate this date, Simon Eggs (OMT Chairman and OMT from the Class of 1985) and the Development Office team invite you to a reunion on Saturday 17th May. We begin the celebrations at school from 5.30pm where we will take groups on tours of school ending in the Inner Quad where drinks will be served. This will be followed by a short walk to the OMT War Memorial Clubhouse for a barbecue and drinks from the bar until late.
This is an informal event with the emphasis being on reconnecting with friends and the school, and we hope that as many of the Class of 1985 and their guests will attend as possible, we also hope some former SCR will be able to attend as well. With that in mind, we have a list of those OMTs that we are no longer in touch with and we would love to enlist your help in spreading the word. When you book your tickets, there is the option, which is entirely voluntary, to donate to the Merchant Taylors' School Bursaries Fund. Gifts to this fund support boys who, without financial assistance, would not have the chance to benefit from the opportunities that a Merchant Taylors' School education gives. Even as private school costs increase, we are committed to extending these opportunities as far as possible. Thank you for considering making a donation.
Finally, credit card charges are not levied on payments to the school. Instead, the service provider, Blackbaud, includes an option at the end of the form to leave a voluntary donation towards the card charges. However, please note that you are under no obligation to pay the charge — the school does not benefit from this donation — so paying the charge is entirely at your discretion.
