Afternoon Tea 2023
On Wednesday 22nd March, over 70 OMTs and their guests came back to Merchant Taylors' School for tours with the JCR and tea in the Great Hall. This year, tours began in the Chapel which has been refurbished in recent years reflecting the many faiths represented in the school community. The school Chaplain, James Fields - and his dog Sam - were also there to welcome guests.
A delicious traditional cream tea prepared by Merchant Taylors' School catering staff was served in the Great Hall as guests were seated in year groups of five to ten years. During tea, music scholar and fourth former, Kian Conti, played Meditation from Thais by Massenet.
A large collection of items from the school Archive including axe heads and pots from the Archaeological collection was on display. As guests left, they were able to indicate images from the photography collection which they would like to receive as digital copies and we were delighted to give bottles of Taylors' Ale as leaving gifts.
Many of the OMTs had not been back since leaving school and it was a pleasure to see them reconnect with school and old friends! A selection of images from the afternoon can be seen in the album below.
