Bruce Webb (OMT, 1989) - Lobster

Congratulations to Bruce Webb (OMT, 1989) whose movie Lobster is set for release in 2016. Bruce wrote and directed the feature, which focuses on one man’s struggle to escape an abusive partner and find love.

Set in the remote backwaters of the South Coast of England, Lobster tells the story of a new romance which is threatened by an ex-wife who blackmails and prevents a fisherman from seeing his daughter through an accusation of domestic violence. Dave’s life begins to unravel before his eyes when his mentally unstable wife, Kate, cruelly turns what was an act of self-defence into the occasion for an accusation of wife beating.

Threatened with losing everything he holds dear; his home and access to his children, he falls slowly into a deep and dark depression. Themes of abuse and manipulation intertwine with those of love and starting over to create a cinematic experience, which is at times both beautifully uplifting and emotionally devastating.

Do get along to when the movie screens in a theatre near you!
