Roast and Rebellion
On Saturday 13th September the Head Master opened the doors to his home and welcomed leavers from 2009-2014 for lunch and drinks. The afternoon was a great success with all those who attended enjoying the late summer sun and a catch up with old School friends. Those who wanted to were also able to go on a tour of the school, to see what had changed since they had left, and also to watch the current 1st XV play rugby against St. Albans School.
Simon Everson spoke about a commitment from the School to do more for our younger OMTs, and about some of the opportunities available to them in the coming months. The sector-specific networking events, including one for the Arts and Creative Industries coming up in December, were of particular interest. He also spoke of the ways OMTs can utilise the development section on the website, particularly the online careers directory which puts OMTs in touch with those in a position to offer careers guidance and even work experience.
While attendees very much enjoyed the day, we are hoping to hear from others who didn’t attend the event, to get a better understanding of what sort of events our OMTs would like us to run in future. If you have any feedback, please do email us at alumni@mtsn.org.uk or phone on 01923 845545.
