Geography at University

The Senior Geography Society hosted four OMTs who are currently studying Geography at Oxford, Cambridge, and Durham universities. The aim of the talk was to provide an insight to the boys about the opportunities for studying Geography at a top university, what topics they could expect to cover, how the course is examined, and what jobs graduates can move onto.

The key impression from the undergraduates was the huge range of topics that students can follow, from changes in global business to the culture of hunting in the UK. They were all equally enthusiastic about their course, and how many opportunities it opened up for them. For example, many of the current undergraduates were pursuing law, accountancy, or consulting in the City, to more specialised roles in the Foreign Office. Many thanks go to James Taylor (OMT 2012), Harrison Sands (OMT 2012), Russell Lamb (OMT 2012), and Simon Armstrong (OMT 2012) for giving so freely of their time.
