University Choices - 20 April 2017

On Thursday 20th April the school welcomed back many current OMT undergraduates. Choosing a university is a daunting prospect and having exhausted every prospectus and website, an honest and sincere reflection upon campus life was welcomed by this year’s Lower Sixth. Thirty current undergraduate OMTs returned to the Great Hall, representing various subjects ranging from Medicine to Linguistics. The afternoon was divided into two halves; the first dedicated to specific courses and the second to individual universities.

The opportunity to speak with students who could both sympathise with our position and provide tailored advice was hugely valued and the confidence with which they spoke was a testament to Merchant Taylors’. The afternoon provided clarity for many and sparked excitement for the future.

Following the session with the Lower Sixth, OMTs were invited to the SCR to catch up with their former teachers. A wonderful spread and ale on tap ensured everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.

Our thanks go to all our returning alumni; Dylan Amin (Imperial College), Sam Baumal (Durham), Oliver Cheng (UCL), Freddie Collings (Durham), Will Copping (Birmingham), Benedict Cross (Nottingham), Kunal Dasani (UCL), Charlie Ford (Oxford), Karim Janmohamed (LSE), Scott Lewis (Exeter), Julian Man (King’s College), Thomas Newport (Oxford), Benedict Oxenham (Leeds), Sebastian Paes (UCL), Chiraag Patel (LSE), Kieran Patel (Cambridge), Maneet Patel (Birmingham), Ravi Patel (Warwick), Rishi Patel (St George’s), Savya Patel (Cambridge), Prahalad Prasad (Warwick), Kishan Radia (Warwick), Edmund Richards (Oxford), Louis Rose (Birmingham), Ben Seabrook (Edinburgh), Amar Shah (Bristol), Arinudh Shah (UCL), Rohin Shah (Exeter), Harjot Singh (Warwick), Samuel West (Warwick) and Cameron Yule (Durham).
